WHAT IS FUNCTIONAL FITNESS?

Functional Fitness is a form of training that builds strength, stability and mobility - making us more efficient not only whilst inside the gym but also in everyday life. 

What can you expect in each session?

All classes at District V last one hour and typically consist of three elements:

  1. Warm Up & Mobilise (10 mins)

  2. Strength (10 - 20 mins)

  3. Workout (15 - 40 mins)

Our sessions combine a mixture of bodyweight movements, barbell exercises and gymnastic skills to give the body a well rounded and effective workout.

What movements does Functional Fitness include?

Typical bodyweight movements include sit ups, air squats, push ups and pull ups. These movements are all scaleable to your individual ability.

 

Typical barbell movements include deadliftssquats, cleans, jerks and snatches
